Jungle Safari Theme Party Food Ideas

Jungle Safari Theme Party Food Ideas #1: Unless your event dictates, try to avoid any kind of tableware. Let your guests eat with their fingers. Additionally, you might want to serve the food on pie tins rather than plates…it will feel like camping or traveling.

Jungle Safari Theme Party Food Ideas #2: Set up a marketplace as your food buffet area. Use small tables and put different multi-colored fabrics on them. You can use metal buckets for whole fruits, wooden bowls for foods. Use brown paper to make “signs” for the foods. Your guests can browse for their food and it will feel like a fresh market. If you only have plastic bowls, use some different fabric or towels to line and cover the bowls holding the food. Maybe put your ice and drinks in a wheelbarrow outside.

Jungle Safari Theme Party Food Ideas #3: Give your drinks alternate names (i.e. Jungle Juice, Koala-Ade, Python Punch, etc.)

Jungle Safari Theme Party Food Ideas #4: Add sand and dirt to your cake…crushed graham crackers work great as sand. Crushed sandwich cookies are good for dirt. You could even use these items as table decorations for your display table.

Jungle Safari Theme Party Food Ideas #5: You can purchase actual alligator, octopus, buffalo and other exotic meat at larger grocery stores. This can be a lot of fun, but be sensitive to your guests’ tolerance for the exotic. Another option for exotic meat is to check online. There are a few markets that will sell small portions of exotic meats to individuals. You can get kangaroo, ostrich, buffalo, alligator…snake…it’s all pretty fun.

Jungle Safari Theme Party Food Ideas #6: Along the same idea – you can order gourmet chocolate covered insects. Consider your guests’ willingness to try these. You may only need a few, cut them into smaller pieces so everyone can try one and that would be enough. It all depends on how adventurous your guests are.

Jungle Safari Theme Party Food Ideas #7: Freeze some plastic bugs or flies in ice cube trays and have a bug-punch
