So you're planning a Snow White theme party for that very special Princess in your life. Here at the Theme Party Hub, we're all about 'experiencing' each theme to its fullest and how you decorate your party space is an integral part of that. Here are some fun ideas to get your creative juices flowing for a real Snow White experience! Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Party Decorating Idea #1: Want a large magic mirror like the storybook but don't have one? Well, here's an option for sprucing up another mirror to make it 'magical.' Choose ANY mirror in your home you might have (or might be able to borrow.) A bathroom mirror could work great because typically every guest will see it at least once. Find the largest FRAME that you can find at your local thrift store. It doesn't matter what painting it comes with, because you won't be using it. You just want the frame - an oval frame, of course, is preferable. Lay the frame on some fabric and trace out the hole onto the fabric. Cut out the hole. Now hang the fabric on the wall that will hold your actual mirror. Place the frame over the hole and it will look like the mirror is the shape of the frame! Add some green and yellow tissue paper flames on the bottom of the mirror (coming from behind the frame) and you'll have your magical mirror! Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Party Decorating Idea #2: This is a great trick for decorating a hallway that might lead to a bathroom or another part of the party space. Create the Seven Dwarfs' mine! Take a large roll of brown packaging paper and crinkle it to look like rock. Use it to cover the walls of the hallway in a rock-like fashion. You can cut out gems of different colors and attach them to the wall OR you can cut HOLES into the rock wall and tape colored tissue paper from the back of the wall. Then, when you provide a light source from behind a wall, the tissue paper 'gems' will actually glow! If you have a dark light (the purple lights used at Halloween) or can borrow one from the family, you'll have the PERFECT setting for a mine scene to walk through! Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Party Decorating Idea #3: Similar to the above, consider creating a 'scary woods' like Snow White had to run through from the Huntsman. Using the crinkled packaging paper as described in Idea #2 above, create tree branches that jut out into the hallway. Using some spider webbing from last Halloween, create a spooky scene to walk through. A purple/dark light and some scary construction paper eyes will finish it off! Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs Party Decorating Idea #4: Don't forget that there are more than visuals involved when trying to set the mood. Sound is a crucial part to setting any atmosphere and fortunately Disney's version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs provides some of the most memorable music in the whole Disney movie library. Songs like "Someday My Prince Will Come" and "Heigh-Ho" are Disney music icons. However, don't stop there. Get your hands on the whole CD (the full soundtrack - check your local library if you don't currently have it. If you end up choosing to purchase it, give it as a gift to the guest of honor (i.e. the birthday girl) BEFORE the party. More bang for you buck. By playing the full soundtrack you'll be sure to have a variety of music, all from Snow White, without the constant repeating of only a few songs.
